History of the name Liebich

Did you know that in the year 1803 section of the church register of the Kurfürstlichen Hessischen Residenz Darmstadt the following is written about the great chemist Justus von Liebig:

On the 14. May the citizen and merchant Mr. Georg Liebich his wife, born Möserin, baptized a son, Johann Justus.

At that time, the name “Liebich” was spelled with “ch” at the end, just as my name as well. So Justus von Liebig is therefore an actual namesake.
